The Transformers

Getting a bit tired after watching the movie, possible because of the fast moving action... Computer graphics they described as shown on the screen.. But they cheated by "scrubbed-up" without too much details with the zooming angles... covering up all faulty and illogical traces of physics + mechanism... became an eye-sore when you watched them..

Not as great as people praise as I feel about this movie, I found it so so (not a fans firstly)... mainly because of all those pounding sound effects created by these giant robots (we called it noise!) and how unreal they changed into different forms... not that convincing.. (sorry, starting to lose my childhood imagination)

Some quotes: "Human is primitive and violence." and "No sacrifice no peace." Sounds true, the same as these autobots. The most surprised saying was ,' WWJD'! How evangelical the movie is..!

Evangelical?! No wonder Sam (the youngster) said the super hi-tech Bumble Bee "must be from Japan", the big bad boss Megatron just looks like an Eva (biomechanic robots) in Evangelion with that a sharp jaw...!

Imaginative enemies (nations) to the US: Russia (still in the Cold War?), China (possible they never understand how Chinese think and perhaps the endless Taiwan issue) and Korea (North for sure). FBI in the States always seems to be portrayed as a group of unreasonable people stormed in people's home... (after Prison Break, you are not surprised these people can be good/bad).

We also saw the struggle between parents with youngsters.. even Opimus had a commented, ' Parents are difficult.' Is generation gap unavoidable?

Question: Why machines get touched with the cubic becomes evil and aggressive? I thought the cubic (the spark) is a neutral energy?!

*ps. The scene that you need to watch after the movie official ending is a plane scene after some credits flow up... (don't ask me what that is!) Don't need to stay thru all the credits to flow up as it has nothing to watch and wait for...!!! :P

Being called for the 2nd time... to work

It was the second time I was being called for work in a very short notice...

I thought my colleague was ok when I saw her on last Saturday when I got home. But then I received a SMS on Sunday morning asking me to work for her in the evening because she was sick....!

Did I have a choice or not?

Indeed, I chose to work because I found doing nothing on a crowded street could be worse....
The thing I worried was I didn't have enough sleep for that night shift...

Thank God He was there to add in strength... though there was a stressful event in the early morning that I had to deal with...

A small box of bakery was received as a compliment from the colleague... The second time, does it necessary? I just wanted to get the job done and indeed the company will pay for an extra day off to me.

Life goes on, just be strong. -_^

Outward Bound... 4 years ago in hkg

4 years ago HK had SARS...

That was also the year I went to Outward Bound School in this period of time of the year..

http://www.outwardboundhk.org/

In there, we lived, we learned, we gave, we gained...
Together with people from different area of the society to complete different tasks, physical challenges... It was a great escape from the busy society and enjoyed living together in a semi-primitive setting of life.

Kayaking, Bush walking, wild camp, boating and the unforgettable 'Solo'...

That year we was a very strong team compare with the team next door. But we had the worse weather in activities as heavy rain for expedition and hot sun in kayaking.... We overcame it.

SARS disappeared during the trip, somewhere in 23rd?
We still remembered nearly 300 HK pple passed away during that epidermic..

Life still goes on, and we shall keep learning for the future and be happy with what we are having.

"Pearlcon Master! " I wish all my teammates are all enjoying life right now.

Bak Kut Teh in KL

A friend suggested to introduce more delicious food in here. So here is one we tried in KL..

肉骨茶 (Bak Kut Teh)!
This is not the first time I have this thing..! The first encountered was in Sydney from a Malaysian Chinese housewife. One day she was asking us to lend her a stoneware for cooking. Then the next thing we found out was a strong Chinese medicine smell.... She asked us to join her meal and we had the very first taste of this funny dish.

There are 2 types of BKT, the pepper scent and the Chinese medicine scent.

The one I tried in Singapore was so strong in pepper taste. Things on the other side of the strait taste differently as they are strong in Chinese medicine.

This one in KL is known to be famous. We took a seat and gave out order. And here it came with this big bowl of BKT served with rice and 油条.. The scent of Chinese medicine was not that strong (which I wish to be more strong). The rice I ordered was the one with multi-grain, which gave a bit of healthy sense...

The meat tastes alright, though you would dump them into soy source. Otherwise the soup was not bad... So the final remark was, better than Singapore...!

I really don't understand why are all the food from Malaysia or nearby countries once enter Singapore give different taste and most of the time to the worse side.... Maybe all those special ingredients were forbidden in this country..!?

cheesecake 2/2

(continue fr last article...)

Well, there are few characters of this cake though...

1. Texture
The cake needs to stay in the coolest part of the fridge, i.e. freezer!
Staying in the normal 4 degree Celsius would not able to firm the cake...!
But I did add in gelatin in there..... So..?!

2. Base
Oh, where is the base in the photo?! ...... It is indeed hidden under the cake, in other words, too soft to be shown-up..! I used salta cracker for the base... not well blended with the butter (which is not melted..!)

Well, at least it comes up some crunchy texture for the cake then...

Nice try, let's see what we are going to do next time then...... (to be continued)

Formula 1 in Singapore...

http://www.formula1.com/news/6063.html

This is not news, but for those who never heard about it would be interesting....

According to the official page, the track would be on the street (obviously run out of space), and it is the first track to be run race at night..!

Oh, so they are proud of it with that..?!

1st impression, we knows how money can move things, now can move the track to this small little island, amazing.!

Secondly, running at night with this tiny streets, how fast can they accelerate in those rockets..!? For sure it is difficult and expected a lot of accident. Would you like to be famous in that..?!

Thirdly, not to mention that there are small little creatures on the road like this little street cat would appear on the road and become a carpet in a seconds... (as shown in the photo demonstrated with a different animal)

Hope I can find out more places for those spectators in the weeks they would be here then...!

地獄少女 - Jigoku Shoujo - The girl from Hell

Well, just recently watching this animation in Singapore at mid-night... Indeed I know the reason why they show this in midnight because it just matching part of the story: myth from the youngsters saying the website of Hell only shown up at 1200 midnight so that you can enter the name of the person so the hell girl will deliver vengeance for you...

Why do I pull the the Full metal Alchemist in here (though I haven't got chance to watch it yet!)?

Both animation got rules in there!

for the Hell girl: The person who untied the red string (agree for the vengeance) will be going to hell when he/she die. (When a person is cursed, two graves is dug.)

for the Full Metal Alchemist: The Equivalent Trade: "To obtain, something of equal or greater value must be lost."

For all these rules, I couldn't mention enough on the classic comic:

The Death Note!!

People names being written will die in 40 seconds from cardiac arrest without mentioning cause of death...

(Well, this is only the first rule but many follows which I got confused afterwards..!)

So that's it!, all about rules..!! ;p

Indeed for the Girl from Hell, talks about "grudge" all the time.... the thing that lead you to the homepage and ended up typing the person's name in it...

Would that be something to do with EQ? The story shown up the reason behind these people, who are willing to deliver people to death in exchange of their after life to hell... Brave in a sense? or fool in another sense..?!

The price is high to pay, but there are still people willing to do it.... People are short sighted and losing patient for a fair judgment...

An ideal world is still to be expected in everyone's heart... somewhere, someday, sometime..

Pirate of the Caribbean - At the Word's End

Finally the last episode of the triology, it was a bit chaotic by watching ship battle without knowing who attacking who. Too may trades and deal that you never clear what's going on in reality, too little ink on how the relationship ended with the previous lovers..

In conclusion, there are 3 points:

1. Deal or no deal - "Good business"
Too much about how people trade with each others, with certain conditions. People who want to trade with you for sure want something from you, that you can offer. But are they giving something you want as well?

2. Betrayal
Again and again, used for create climax and anti-climax.. Successful or not? I wouldn't know..! It's seems that trust in the pirate world never exist. You can be my friend, and enemy in the next minute, and back to my friend again at the end.

3. 'Do you afraid of death?'
Famous quote from Davy Jones every time he asked his prey. Ended up he was being stunned before sword went through his heart in the chest... Ironic..!?

4. Love
Not too much description in this time. The Calypos and Jones story was being spoiled by continuous excitement and madness of Jack Sparrow and various computer effects.. Yeah, the movie surely is not a love story at all but a crazy adventure..!

5. Destiny... where you wanna go... The compass, maybe something I want to grab too.!

Famous saying from Jack's father (appeared less than 10 minutes in the movie, but giving such an unforgettable quote)
"It's not about living forever, Jackie . . . It's about living with yourself forever."
by Captain Teague

In other words, living forever would be a curse if one's not able to live with one self...

The whole idea, possibly original from Treasure Island the classic and bought out One Piece the comic..

Pirate being romanticised .. just like the triad in Hong Kong movie then?!

ps. Captain Sao Feng, your death is a tragic...... -_-! (glad you left some cantonese in the movie though..)

Whatever & Anything

They are new drinks promoted recently in Singapore...!

http://www.anything.com.sg/

Whatever = non-carbonated drink (tea)
Anything = Carbonated drink

Each of them have 6 flavors, you don't know what flavor you take. That's good for really indecisive people, especially in Singapore market..?!

Indeed that possibly the original concept, as written in the official homepage..!

Smart eh?!

Experiencing God.... on the road

What: A driving trip from KL back to Singapore..
Situations:
1. Being jammed in the traffic due to car crushes x2 on the highway.
2. Late in returning the rental car due to the jam mentioned above, possible outcome will incur extra pay of car rental/
3. Slightly rain on the highyway.
4. Hunger and tiredness in driving/
How:
1. The car was driven in a high speed and closed to the 2nd car crush site, reflex works by swirling and got over (with no car at the back).
2. Tired and Exhausted, low morale but CD started playing encouraging songs like Twilight and 世界はそれを愛と呼ぶんだぜ (both songs, Op and Ed from the japanese TV drama: Densha Otoko (link to wiki) 電車男 and the later song actually from the NDS game Ouendan 2 (link to wiki)) . It was really like Ouendan situation that we need to fight for speed to return the car on time with extra speed to travel on a busy highway...). Gain extra concentration and power indeed..!
3. The rental company called at the custom and told us we can return the car later without paying extra, ended of the catching time drama...! What a relieve and unbelievable thing to happen..!!

It is also like the reality show: The Amazing Race - that we need to be the first to finish certain tasks... The show does always show up people confused and frustrated in driving...-_-!

Thank God, for the safety of the journey... He hears our prayer.. truly!

ps. thanks YY to organise a lot of things in the trip! ^_^
